Rama Beach Resort
In Where I've Been, Rappler features an unforgettable destination perfectly captured in one shot – one beautiful moment forever preserved, one beautiful story told in a photograph.
Zambales is listed in the 1995 World Guinness Book of Records as having produced the sweetest mango fruit in the world, a pride that the province is still reaping from every year with every celebration of its 6-day mango festival. Known as Sweet Elena, the mango fruit was also recognized for being the biggest type by the Philippine Bureau of Plant Industry for three consecutive years. It's only fitting that I had it for a refreshing drink in the form of a shake over lunch when I recently visited the province. The venue of the sweet experience was Rama International Beach Resort in the municipality of Botolan.
It’s easy to get stuck within Metro Manila due to heavy traffic. Moving about from one city to another can take gruelings hours or so on average regardless if you’re doing business or just on a simple weekend errand. Even if staycations are inviting, the allure of a quick escape to a distant place is still something that keeps people looking for alternatives. And such can be found at hotels and resorts that are conveniently located in neighbouring provinces.
An Accessible Beach Escape. I used to head over to Batangas for beach escapes as I reckon it to be nearer to Manila than other popular island getaways. No need to travel by plane. A simple bus ride would suffice. When I learned that Rama International Beach Resort is accessible via the main road or highway where Victory Liner buses ply through Zambales, I tried to check how convenient it is to get there. Rama Beach Resort - Sunset Heaven. After visiting Iba for the day, we stopped at Rama International Beach Resort on the way back to San Felipe for a sunset drink and dinner - great choice. Set in established grounds, once you navigate the driveway from the highway to the resort...bliss. Big pool, enviting reception area, grassy lawns, big trees...sweet. So, sip cold ale's watching an unabridged view of the Sea of Philippines and then settle into the open-style dining area for some well priced, tasty nosh. US, Aust and local tucker well priced and tasty...
